Google To Block Autoplay Videos In Chrome From 2018

Search engine giant Google has stated that it will put an end to annoying auto-playing videos in its web browser starting from January 2018. Google made this known in its official blog stating that the planning to make it bit customizable as per the user’s wish.

Google Chrome

The company said its web browser, the Google Chrome, will only allow autoplay when either the media won’t play sound, or the user has indicated an interest in the media. The report indicates that Chrome 64 will allow autoplay only when the users wants it but Chrome 63 will have a new user option to completely disable audio for individual sites

It says in the report;
This will allow autoplay to occur when users want media to play, and respect users’ wishes when they don’t. These changes will also unify desktop and mobile web behavior, making web media development more predictable across platforms and browsers. These changes will give users greater control over media playing in their browser, while making it easier for publishers to implement autoplay where it benefits the user
 I thinks this is a welcome development put media playing control on the hands of web browser users or what do you thinks?
